 |
|
I need to send my licence to the DVLA, not points or anything.
But simply what precautions should I take for this? Seeing that
the DVLA is filled with monkeys on peanuts?
I've read horror stories of bike cops losing their bike entitlements
or car entitlements.
I sure as hell don't want to lose any since I have the HGV things on them too and I only kept the motorbike test certificate pass .

Make copies before you send it off, and get proof of postage AND make sure you know where your pass certificates are.
EDIT-
Seeing this thread reminded my friend that he needs to change the address on his license, just been through the process online and DVLA site states that you cut you license in half and return it to them BEFORE you've received your new license. Surely this puts a worrying amount of faith in the DVLA not cocking it up. ____________________ My Flickr |

.
I would call into your local DVLA office, if possible and confirm the old licence entitlements first, are you able to pilot a lawnmower etc.
I(f you can't visit then what marjay says is a good idea.

You could try contacting them online. I was surprised - OK, amazed - by the quality of the response that I got.
They (say they) won't disclose your details by email, but you could ask them to post them out. Or you could just tell them what's already on your license and ask them to simply confirm that by email. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

You can get a copy of all the information DVLA hold about you on their database by making a Driver Register Data Subject Request.
It must be submitted in writing giving a reason for the request and include a £5 fee.
They will send you a dated printout from the DVLA database which will include your licence categories as currently recorded on their system.
I have used the service a couple of times with no problems.
