just inquiring how much you think this is worth completely original Honda nsr 250 c reg v5 runs body work bit tatty as been sat in shed for 7 years i bought it for £480 even i know that is a bargain just want to get an idea of how much i could get for it


also is it worth more as it is or more with a respray exactly the same?

Certainly worth a lot more than you paid for it then.

A lot of speculators trying to push prices unreasonably high unfortunately.

A high milage MC21 went for £2100 on ebay recently it seems.

About £700, MC16s and 18s are not as desirable as an MC21's., parts, esp bodywork are hard to come by now. Have a look on "NSRWorld", they're a great bunch.

didnt happen to buy it off ebay just before christmas time? a red and white one with the side fairings removed as the guy had been trying to set the carbs to make it run right?

Values are going up quite quickly, and will quite likely continue to do so.

I would put some neat 2-stroke down the bores, change the gearbox oil for some fresh, spray the whole thing down with ACF-50, then put a cover on it and forget about it for two or three years. Probably worth filling the fuel tank and adding some stabiliser to stop it rusting, or just fill it with parraffin or something that doesn't go off like petrol.

Don't do anything to it. People want to buy totally original ones to restore.

Ah cheers for that i will put some pics up soon wasn't firing so found the problem re-wired her cleaned the carbs flushed the oil out filled it back then put some distilled water in turned the key kicked her over fired up 1st time sound magic so tempted to go have a spin got to mot it at some point so i think then its got to be done and her new names bargain bucket

Might be an idea to keep an eye on that temp guage for the first 100 miles or so in case the crank seals have dried out

The main problems with the MC16 are:-

Virtually none of the later model parts are interchangeable.

There are 2 CDI units, one per coil, if these aren't working then you're into big expense. The parts are no longer available new, there are no after market alternatives, so your only options are buying second hand or having the units repaired. You can have new ones made at £600 a pop, they can be repaired but you can't get a price until they've been tested at £35 per unit.

Other than that, tiny little bike, surprisingly comfortable to ride.

ah looks really smart nice you know of anywhere for transfers and stickers for them?

shes all good at the moment but ive decided im going to sell her il clean it up a bit more and see how much i can get

If your going to sell her, I'd look into breaking it, parts are now obsolete, if the CDI units are working you'll get £100 each, no problem, I'd buy them off you now!!
