Hi

From memory it mounts on the tank itself.

All the best

If its the steel framed model there should be a crossmember between the frame rails just behind the carbs. It unbolts so might have been lost / cast.
Now I've looked at the photo a little closer you can see the two mounting lugs with the screw thread.

Cheers

Those are the mounts for the petrol tank.

All the best

Don't think it is.

You can see the pump and how it mounts here

All the best

Apologies, the other posters are correct in that it mounts to the tank. When I did mine last year I fitted a ZX-9 tank (and Fireblade seat unit) and used the crossbeam for the fuel pump. Oh, and thats a TDM 850 17'' rear wheel on there too. Quite nice if I do say so myself.

Hi

I am no fan of putting bit from random bikes onto other bikes, but that looks good. Seat unit does look a bit bulky but still within reason.

How easy was it to fit the 17" rear wheel? On my 3HE with the stock wheel and 150 tyre the clearance between the chain and tyre is tiny (~5mm).

All the best

Keith

Hi. ANYTHING looks better than a stock early FZR, the post '93 models were the best of them all, far better looking than the T'cat IMHO. I did this as I had picked up a £200 shed and had all these bits cluttering up the workshop. The more I did, the more it grew on me. Total cost, to me, was about £600, would be more if you had to source the bits, but you can go your own way with these old things.
The TDM wheel fits like a dream, all you have to do is cut the caliper hanger to allow for the extra width of the hub, about half an inch as I recall. A hacksaw and grinder and it was done within an hour. The chain side lines up perfectly with the stock spacer, stock spindle, stock disk too. I'll have to do some digging but I'm sure I have this documented and photographed somewhere if you want more info.

Cheers

Hi

I actually quite like the FZR styling.

The wheel fitment is interesting. Given that a legitimate rear tyre is difficult to get for the stock rear wheel.

All the best

Keith (who also has an FZR600 3HE floating around)
