I was also looking at both of the above alarms and wondering about quality etc.
I quite like the look of the Cheetah and was tempted to bid on one the other day, but the very cheap price put me off. ____________________ Aprilia RSV Mille R Edwards Replica - Aprilia RS250 - Suzuki GSXR600 Supersport Race Bike |

Thing is you have to make sure the alarm doesnt sap your battery power. Some of them can, pretty quickley.
I dont know much about alarms though, just from what ive heard about bike alarms. |

This remote start sounding like a bad idea to me
i could press the button and just ride off?
Normally alarm at least you would have to put the keys in take steering lock off, dis-arm alarm and then start the bike. ____________________ F'it DO WHAT EVER MAKES YOU HAPPY!!!!! Even if it screws over everyone else :p

For £25 I want one...
How easy/hard are they to fit? Someone tell me how good they are, becuause i dont want to get one, and realise its rubbish and its a waste of time.
Also is it still easy enough to jump start the bike with one of those gizmos attached?
Recon i could get one and fit it in 1 week, before i go to Uni? I could do with one there. Im crap at electrics.

I'd just like to point something out, although these alarms are cheap, they offer no reduction in insurance premiums as non of them in this hread are Thatcham Approved or SoldSecure Approved.
I would spend that little bit extra and get a brand I know well like meta or Datatool and have that piece of mind that it is insurance approved, and it will knock a few quid off my insurance and set my mind at rest.

Hmmm, they look very interesting. At £25 though, it does seem a little cheap. I guess reliability is the question here, has anyone run any of the alarms mentioned here for any length of time? ____________________ 'Allo! My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!

Yeah and usually you need a bit of gas to start the engine (mine does all the time), Or choke now its getting cold. So completly useless. as you'd have to walk up to it anyway.
Yeah if i get one, some help for you Smoto would be useful. Probably not for a while now, as im off in a week.
Not enough time... to get and fit.
Usually with alarms, you pay cheap you get cheap, crap, so i dont think they will be so good. Cheap alarms give you hassle. |
