So my life is really shite atm :/

Parents splitting up mums already left the house so living here with just my dad at the moment.

Dads recently lost his job and spends all his money he gets traveling 60 miles to his new gfs then 60 miles back the next day.

My work has dissapeared and i have £0.00 income.

Theres next to no food in the cupboards no milk for coffee and dad won't even go shopping because he has no money to, yet he can go see his new gf every day.

My insurance is due soon and i can't pay it.

Dads giving the house to my mum in 2 weeks so im left with live here with her who i hate or live with my dad in his new house that will be the same as it is now.

Ive been trying to find work but can't get anything at the moment.

Am i just being a needy little bitch by moaning because my dad wont go shopping because he spends his cash on seeing his gf instead?

Ye i should probably move out but finding a place is going to be so difficult with no money and i don't want to go sign on and sponge off the government.

When dads here he makes a load of mess and leaves dirty plates and such in the sink then i get moaned at to clean them up.

Just getting so stressed out with all this shit at the moment.

Sorry to hear about your problems mate.

You may thinking that benefits etc is ‘sponging’ but in the situation you’re in there doesn’t seem like there are many other alternatives apart from biting the bullet and signing on. At least you will be receiving some money to get you by, whilst your job hunting.

Don’t you have any friends or relatives you can stay with whilst you get yourself back on track?

You are an adult, and I expect him to treat you like one. He's got his life and he's getting on with it. If you want some milk for your coffee, go and buy some its about 50 p a pint. If you're on the bones of your arse like you say, then sell something (I've had to do it in the past).

Where are you looking for work ? Are you willing to take anything ?

Years ago, when i was made redundant, i got a job cleaning toilets. It was shit, literally, but paid the bills until i got offered a job in the trade i'd already been in for a few years.

Could be worth contacting the citizens advice bereau to see if they can advise/steer you on the right path

I agree with the rest, get yourself on Job Seekers and ease the burden a little bit. Then find work and go from there. Life can be crap but you gotta make sure you don't get caught in a rut, always make progress on your situation, even if it's a slow process.

22 years paying into the system, only signed on in the last year as can no longer work, its there when you need it and you need some income to live. Your dad doesnt get enough to support both of you.

striking out alone is a daunting prospect but once you've done it you'll wonder what all the fuss was about.

Start by improving your outlook and getting a handle on your emotions. They say that when you hit rock bottom (which you haven't, yet) the only way is up and that is the direction you should be looking.

Your parents clearly have their own issues - you need to start seriously working for your own good and discount any thought of reliance on them. Your dad is engrossed in his own business, and is happy to move away from familiar surroundings so there's a message in there for - if you do go with him he's going to drag you down. You say you hate your mother - I have no comment on that but since you say you are 'left with her' as an option it at least means a roof over your head so if your differences really are n't reconcilable, rather than hating her for whatever things have passed, consider her dispassionately - as a landlady - set yourself apart, follow the house rules and pay your set amount and the deal stops there. You'll only need to do this until you've saved for a deposit.

Sort out your work. You're young, have no permanent ties or dependants, so that means you can pretty much go anywhere and do anything. You'll be surprised at how many people will be impressed by you just walking in the door and stating that you're looking for a job. I did that once, the guy looked me up and down and said 'when can you start'. I said I only need time to phone the wife then I'm all yours and that's what happened. Of course you have to follow it up by turning up every day, on time, working steadily and leaving your phone in your pocket but you'll find out very quickly if you fit or not.

Don't mess about or you'll be left in the doldrums. If you have no work and no money the one thing you have no shortage of is time, so make a conscious decision to get out there and start doing something with it.

bit of a long one this .......

i was in a worse situation than you at 18 mate
i had nothing and no one
my mother is a drug addict and wants nothing to do with me
my dad walked out on me when i was a kid
(tried him contacting the prick aint interested)

i was homeless jobless and lived 40 miles from my nearest relative who has since passed away
on top of everything i was trying to complete a joinery coarse whick i was then kicked off for medical safety reasons (i collapsed in class due to mental exaustion caused by a blood pressure related migraine)

i turned my life around in many ways
FIRST i got myself booked in to a hostel it was shit and it was full of smack heads BUT it was roof over my head
SECOND i signed on i needed money to live off
THIRD i registered with benardos as a youth in bad circumstaces
they gave me a huge amount of help that i can never repay with housing me in shared acomedation then finding me a flat and such
and finally i had some part time work sorted out .

No shame in applying for JSA and benefits. The shame is in abusing it and freeloading off the state.

If you're using it to keep a roof over your head and food in the cupboard whilst finding work then that is what it's there for and don't think any reasonable person would deny you that.

Go and look for any kind of job you can though, end of the day, money is money no matter what job you're earning it from. It shouldn't be too hard to find a job if you're prepared to put hard work in.
