Its never done it befor. I thought it was the chain but the chain has recently been cleaned and adjusted. It will also do it if your riding along the suddenly open the throttle all the way. Adjust the lever free-play and test ride it. If it's still slipping, come back and I'll tell you how to adjust the actual clutch.
Too many people think that the clutch adjustment is on the lever, but it's not - that's just the cable adjustment. Either might be the fault, but one is very often disregarded. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Loosening off the cable isn't the same as adjusting the clutch.
Look where the cable goes into the engine. Somewhere near there will be a round cap or cover or rubber bung. Remove it and see underneath - you'll probably find a screw and locknut adjuster. Loosen the locknut and then turn the screw anticlockwise half a turn or so, then re-tighten the locknut. See if that stops it slipping.
The proper way to adjust it is actually to screw out the screw until you feel no weight on it, then screw it in until you fell it touch, then back it off half a turn or so. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Did you not look at the pushrod clearance adjuster as I described above, or does it not have one? ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'
