Eww..

Have you tried pouring down some boiling hot water?

If this fails then try some causdic soda.

If that fails THEN you get your hands dirty.

Any plunger will do tbh even the £3.99 ones you get at indie hardware stores.

Just push it down the toilet hole and try and make a seal and pump a couple of times. Be wary if you live in a block o flats you may get.... erm blow back.

I remember watching some fly on the wall show about a casualty department in the Caribbean several years ago. One thread followed an unfortunate chap who had attempted to clear his blocked toilet with sulphuric acid and petrol. Then, for reasons known only to him, he introduced a naked flame to the situation. Being treated for heat AND chemical burns simultaneously is not cool.

However, back on topic. I’m a serial toilet blocker. I produce turds of such girth and volume that I can overwhelm all but the most heroic bog. My current house has an amazing toilet that I haven’t been able to block in nearly six years. Amazing build quality… Cool

…but I digress. My standard remedy is a large vessel (bucket, washing up bowl, etc. Whatever will hold several litres) filled with plain old cold water, poured rapidly from a decent height directly into the bowl. That’ll shift almost anything. I’ll wager that’s all you’ll need. Quick, clean, effective. But! If it’s so blocked that water is draining really slowly please choose a bucket with less volume than the toilet bowl, just in case.

Failing that unbend an good stiff coat hanger and put your best stabbing technique into practice. If you suspect that it may be “lady products” maybe bend a little hook into the end of the wire and see what you can drag out.

After that all you need is a strong stomach and a good nail brush… …for your nails obviously, not for clearing the toilet. Thumbs Up

Plungers are OK for clearing blockages in sinks, baths, showers etc but are nigh-on useless for clearing blockages in shitters. Whenever a bog gets blocked the first place to take a look is inside the nearest manhole inspection chamber.

Smile Ok, you can get what you require in the likes of B&Q,Focus,£ stretchers etc, or a hardware shop for a couple of quid, if you just have a loo brush, wrap an old cloth around it, push it down the pan ( wrap well so it won't come off to exasperate situation ) to create a seal, push up/down a few times to get sucksion, and hopefully dislodge whats there, if unsucsesfull try the bucket of water trick, watching carefully for overfill....keep going with the rest of above suggestions, if all else fails phone a plumber, maybe you've got a very good friend who might help you !!...good luck in you endevours Smile Thumbs Up

get a garden hose and ram it down the hole, one of those thick ones with the reinforcement you can see in the tubing, keep twisting it and pushing it until it will go no further and then keep ramming it in and out

for a plunger, go buy a mop, the old type with cotton string head, a nice big one, then use that as a plunger in the bowl

Tie a plastic bag around the end of a mop and use it as a plunger, in and out a few times and it suddenly clears. Awesome Very Happy

Tried, tested and working when the "suddenly pour a load of water" trick had failed.

It's highly unlikely it's the toilet that is blocked.
Any blockage will be further down the pipe work.
Look for the first cover on the outlet pipe, this won't neccesarily be a large manhole cover, it could be a small cover on a rodding point.
Once you've found that, lift the cover, if the chamber is full, obviously the blockage is downstream, if it's empty you'll need to clear the blockage from upstream.
If the pipes are a relatively straight run, buy or borrow some drainage rods and remove the blockage with them. If you suspect that there are some bends in the pipe get a garden hose and work it into the pipe using full mains pressure once you've got the hose in.
Remember if the blockage is a reasonable distance from the toilet, there will be enough pressure behind the blockage to push the sewerage out of the manhole, so make sure your head isn't to close to the chamber!
I used to work with a CCTV unit, surveying sewers, and I've unblocked more drains than I care to remember.

+1,000,000 Thumbs Up

I bought a brand new house on a very new estate and the first Xmas most of the estate had backed up. Some had tried to clear from inside the home and made a right mess. I had rods, so was able to do every thing outside and clear my bit to the main drain. the main issue was builders leaving rubble down the drains or just the fact that sand and gravel got stuck in there.

If it is the toilet end just put a bin bag round your arm and go grabbing.

Laughing Well these days my tan is real, however I shall tell you a tale.

I got roped into doing some sampling work at various treatment plants.
At the time the water authority was looking to upgrade the sewers in Gretna.
Consequently we had monitoring equipment at a sewerage pumping station.
As the system was working at 120% the sump at this particular pumping station needed to be emptied on a regular basis.
So I turn up to download the data from the samplers, as I'm doing this the honey wagon turns up to pump a tanker load of effluent from the well. Everything was going smoothly until the connection to the tanker gave up the ghost. The resultant shower of effluent covered me, the tanker driver and the foreman from head to toe.
I was not best pleased!!
Fortunately I was on my bike (KR1s) so I didn't stink my car out on the way home! Rolling Eyes
