Yep, go for the Motobatt.
I know plenty of people using them and they really rate them. I got one myself a while back, but havent fitted it yet.
Pat linked to an extensive test on here a little while ago, a search should bring it up.

Time will be the test ____________________ [Current Bikes - GSXR-750 K5 & C90-97 ] [Previous Bikes: Runner 125, YBR 125, GS500, Bandit 600, Hornet 600, ZX6R-99, C90-99, R1-99, XT600E-04, GSXR-750 K4, CRF250L '16] |

I have no experience of LiPoly batteries as vehicle batteries.
The Odysseys are about the best lead acid batteries going. I have a PC680 in the beemer. They have a 2 year replacement warranty. ____________________ Some shite cruiser. Now with guns and FREEDOM! |

Those lightweight racing batteries are no good for the road, if they ever go flat they are fucked. So if you forget to turn you grips off or your parking lights that is £200 down the drain. Thanks for your advice I'll grab a motobatt one. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. If you want to save the world, you have to push a few old ladies down the stairs.

I will pm the seller ref this gos flat dies claim ... these baterrys are newish, you may be right about older racing batterrys.
Don't know - will find out for sure, if your right, then not worth the hassle.
Btw, it's not me who says motabats are shit, it's someone else who is either wrong, or wants to sell more of his own stock that don't inc motobats.
Getting to the real reason got me banned fomr 125 forum for a week. And NO not banned for abuse from me either.

I had Odyssey in my old Vmaxii, they cost around 100 notes. I started trying motobatt with the Speed triple and, continued for all my bikes after that. All three bikes I have today have motobatt
I buy my motobatts from Ebay. One of them didn't work or I fookt it and the seller replaced the battery no problem. Still going strong after 12 months.

I'm happy with the Lead acid Yuasa that's on the 250 single. It must be 5 years old now and holds a charge well. Mind you it doesn't have to spin a starter motor.
The Varta Lead acid on the 944 twin didn't inspire confidence. It started ok, but the volts dropped fast. I had the receipt from the previous owner so knew it was only 2 years old. Also read on Ducati forums that starting bikes with a weak battery could bring on sprag clutch problems in certain KTMs, and Ducatis.
Found that Texas Toast Battery Cookoff test and went for the yellow one.
It doesn't win in every type of test. It was considered the overall winner tho.

Did you get one of these in the end Chris? The battery on the ZXR is shagged and there's one of these on eBay fairly cheap, just wondering if there worth the bit extra.
