Having moved to Bristol from Glasgow it was a bit of a shock how bad the driving was there.... indicators are just pretty orange decorations on the car (either that or the stalk is broken off so they can't use them), there's no such things as speed limits, the only way to get out at a junction is to floor it and close your eyes, red lights are only advisory etc etc
Most of the things that get done on the roads in Bristol would get you stabbed in Glasgow, my way round it was to become a bus driver |

So what happened to inspire that epiphany?
Most drivers, whether 2 wheeled or 4 are crap in Bristol I watched some idiot kid on scooter try to filter in between two buses the other week.
Made for great entertainment! I think everyone on the bus was collectively thinking 'DIE.'
P.S. I totally can't filter either xD But then I'm too wussy to try half the time. ____________________ 'Just erotic. Nothing kinky. It's the difference between using a feather and using a chicken.'

Drove through Bristol at the weekend, one question; What the heck were they thinking designing the roads like THAT?! Pretty much every roundabout / junction I crossed was so poorly designed as to be downright dangerous.
Note: Small chance that my TomTom is just a cunt. ____________________

Living in Bristol the roads here are designed dreadfully, that's for sure. At heavy traffic times there are several 'hotspots' that lead to half an hour to hour delays for people in cars and the council basically refuse to acknowledge that these exist, instead deciding to work on other stuff that doesn't need changing. . ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."

Visiting Brizzle tomorrow, I'll keep an eye out.
To be fair i've seen some bloody aggressive filtering in Bristol many times. Though it's always been cyclists |

You might remember I slowed and waved you past as I had done my job and saw you as being a courier needing to get somewhere.
You recognised my business name and stopped for a chat before getting on while i trundled off for fuel and a maccy d's breakfast.
But yes, there are many bikers who seem to just sit in the traffic faking filtering but that happens everywhere. Damn people getting in my way. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? you get used to it eventually.... treat everyone like they treat you on the roads... car, bike and bus... actually when I was driving the buses I never EVER lost a game of chicken
For anyone that knows Bristol well, I managed 30mph across the downs on a Saturday afternoon..... double decker bus, traffic coming towards me and me with my eyes closed most of the way. |

Bristol is certainly a challenging city to work your way through but ive been in towns and citys throughout the UK that are far worse..took a group of 26 bikes from Aztec West in the North all the way through the middle and on down to the A370..negotiated the city no problem and all stayed together.
Bristol is not that bad...try London,Birmingham,Leeds or Manchester |
