Royal Enfield Bullet. My ex had the 350, I had a 500. Not a bike you can ignore maintenance on, but I had a grin every time I rode it. It's still on my list for a possible next bike. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.

GPz 305. It's got some pretty obvious issues and will essentially be junk when the belt goes or it suffers oil starvation or just eats its big end for no reason.
But I've lucked out up to now - probably due to "mollycoddling" it, dealing with the oil pickup, and only making progress when it's good and warm - and it's been a useful, economical commuter that cracks a grin at 7K.
Likewise, the HN125-8 (aka Lexmoto Vixen) seems to either be a peach or a lemon, but for the £730 I paid for it new (delivered, registered and plated) I got great laughs per pound.
I wouldn't recommend either, but I've certainly enjoyed them. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Ducati 750 Paso. Shit build quality, shit reliability, horribly uncomfortable but great fun (when working) and I thought it looked stunning.

After slagging them off for years, I was never more surprised than when I first rode a CX500 It was actualy quite nice to ride. Still a bit slow and boring though and didn't like it enough to ever buy one. ____________________ Space Is Deep |

FZR600 - basically wrote it off from the start as everyone talks about how they're just so far behind any contemporary from '92 onwards and how they are seriously uncomfortable yet I can go two hours without issue on one and it's still got far more ability than I ever will. It might not be quite as good as a CBR and the Thundercat might be more comfortable and powerful but it's still a damn good bike.
If only it came with a 17" rear

Facilities manager, Melvin, was an old hand from the Cafe-Racer era with 'J.A.P' tatoo, and loved the game of displaying bits of mangled Velo he'd pulled from holes maintenance bods had dug to get at pipes, and play "Guess what Velo this was for?"
| Amreet wrote: | I've always fancied one when I have the spare time and money, for an old brit bike they're pretty cheap for a restoration project and just such a strange engine, might be a laugh for getting around town. |
I was looking at them a while back and they are no where as 'cheap' as they used to be.
They used to be a favorite 'first Resto' for the brit-bike brigade years ago, because they were a four-stroke, and there were plenty of them around.
Police used them as 'beat-bikes' in the country areas until they gave them Panda-Cars (Think 'Heart-Beat') while the post office maintained fleets of them for the longer ranging rounds of rural areas.
Bantam two stroke was more conventional with tube frame, and was popular for budget road racing or making a 'trials chop'; but the little noddy bike was not really so versatile and only really suitable as a road bike; though I do think the Velo club had a class to road race them! But made it less sought after, hence cheaper.
There was a tube frame version, I recall. But the classic Noddy-Bike has that pressed steel monococh chassis, and if I remember right, is prone to rot, and a bit of a 'bitch' to renovate if the rot has set in.
Unloved bikes I've owned?
VF1000F.
Was supposed to be an evil handling, barge with a top end that self distructed, and a drink problem.
Loved it.
My Montesa Cota.
Was deemed to be 'hopelessly outclassed' by the new generation of mono-shock trials bike, 4 years old, in 1985, when I bought it.
But I had the last laugh when six years later, those early mono's were being outclassed in 'Clubman' trials, and they created the 'T-Shock' class for the 'unloved' and my Cota was just about the pinicle of Two-Stroke, T-Shock evolution! ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

Dunno about unpopular, because they sold by the shedload and they seem to have a following now, but my Superdreams were lots of fun.
Always slated for being a dull old UJM, I thrashed the conkers off all of mine, leaned them more than I thought was possible and never dropped one, and generally had a hoot with them.
So much so, I've bought another, after a 30 year break; I hope it's as good as I remember ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........
