Hello

I have just notice on my KH125 project bike that when you kick it over a milky brown liquid is coming out from the engine throught the carb intake, and is a fair amount of liquid.

Im guessing that is off oil that been sitting, but what i am wondering is was is the best sort this problem, have i got to drain the oil and flush out the old, if not what would i need to do?

thanks

How much is a "fair amount"?

A few tens of ccs or a few hundreds of ccs? Drips or a stream?

it not a massive amount but the carb inlet is soon full will then go it to the carb after around 4+ kicks. But will only start to come out when the engine is being kicked over.

seen as it only happens then, im guessing it oil that either been sitting, or it been mixed with water or something else.

what can i do to solve the problem

thanks

Give the cases a good swill out with paraffin or petrol to clean out all the gunk.

May be easier to get the engine out, remove the head and barrel so you can give the bottom end a good shake around to get at all the nooks and crannies.

Is there anything else i should check while i have the engine out, as it has been sitting for a while.

thanks

drain the gearbox oil and check for any rust/metallic particles.

Check the piston and barrel for scuffs, that the conrod has no side to side slop and the bearings on the crank for corrosion. Carburettor will most likely need new seals and a new float needle. Points will need looking at as well.

Im not overly familiar with two strokes, but I think the KH is autolube so the function of the oil pump will need checking. Someone more familiar with smokers will no doubt come along shortly.

Hi

To add to the suggestions above, check your air filter. Could be someone has heavily oiled the foam filter element and that has drained down to the carb

All the best

Keith

Any 'milky brown liquid' sounds serious, as though oil is mixing with water. Check to see if oil is getting in your water and vice versa.
