I do... Only have one on the back under ym plate, and i've had to stick a sticker L plate over that because the reg plate was over the L
Someone told me it's 3 points and a £60 fine for each L plate not on display...
Can anyone verify this?
I nearly went into the side of a police van today. Dozy bint. ____________________ Fzr-600 1999

Correct you legally need one front and back. Though I've seen plenty of people without the front one, or with it cut right down. Chances are the police are only going to see you from behind so the rear one is very important. If they don't pull you over you'll get away with out them noticing, but if they pull you over for something else then they'll notice and it'll go on top of whatever else you're in trouble for |

As has been said, I'll TL;DR it:
You MUST display both 'L' plates. Front and back where they are CLEARLY VISIBLE to other road users.
The 'L' plates must also be LEGAL size. This is 178mm by 178mm (white square).
Failure to display them correctly and legally is an offence. You'll wind up with 3 points and a £60 fine (Fixed Penalty Notice) PER PLATE that is incorrectly or unlawfully displayed/not displayed.
Want to ride without 'L' plates? Pass your test. ! ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."

[Laws MV(DL)R reg 16 & RTA 1988 sect 87]
Vehicles. Any vehicle driven by a learner MUST display red L plates. In Wales, either red D plates, red L plates, or both, can be used. Plates MUST conform to legal specifications and MUST be clearly visible to others from in front of the vehicle and from behind. Plates should be removed or covered when not being driven by a learner (except on driving school vehicles).

Can anyone paste the actual DVLA cited penalty for this?
I've head some say £30 per plate, others say £60, others say 3 points per....
Which is it? ____________________ Fzr-600 1999 |

That is my old 125cc and I stuck my front 'L' plate where the "Athena" sticker was on the screen so it just covered the bottom of the screen. I cut it very slightly (illegal, I know) to make it fit flush so it covered the bottom of the screen and fit around the small light at the bottom of the screen/the red screen edges.
Stuck on for a year, never questioned about it. Definitely looks slightly better than having it hanging off the forks! ! ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."
