 |
|
I've just bought this pair of trousers: https://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/clothing/motorcyle-clothing/pants/hein-gericke-shannon-gore-texr-performance-shell-hose-schwarz.html
And they're a pretty good fit, except that even having adjusted the knee armour to it's higher position (there only appears to be two options) it's a bit too low for me. As it's only held in place by the lining, I only need to make the lining shorter above the knee to make them fit better (I think). My plan is to just fold it back on itself to take it up an inch or so and sew a 6 inch long strip to hold it there at the front and just let the back hang down.
Has anyone done this before?
How should knee armour be positioned ideally? I'm guessing it should be positioned so that the curvy bit sits on your knee cap? Currently the top edge pushes against my knee cap just a little below the top of it. If I kneel down I do kneel on the armour, but my knee doesn't line up with the curved bit of the armour.
Is there a better way of doing it? |

Agree with above......... my leathers fit great when sat on the bike, but they make me walk like I just filled them with bum fudge! ____________________ Current......Kawasaki ZZR1200 C2H and Kawasaki ZZR600 E7

I had a Gericke 2 piece a while ago - the trousers fitted perfectly, apart from the knee armour which was so uncomfortable when on the bike that I ended up having to remove it. ____________________ Space Monkey #7

I know this is a slightly different scenario but it might give you some ideas.
I had a similar problem with some leathers.
The knee protectors fitted into a pocket in the lining, and thererin lies the problem, the protectors need to be fixed to the leg of the trousers, not the lining.
If the lining is attached to the top and bottom of the trouser leg, the lining is not bending at the same radius as the trouser legs and gets pulled taught across your knee.
I cut the lining out and attched the protector to the trouser leg, the result being that the protector stayed in the right place and didn't restrict my movement. ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |
