On my Sidi boots the Velco on some of the straps has come off and now one of the soles is detaching from the upper. Damn things, I've only had them a little over twenty years, things just arn't made to last any more. |

Last week the zip on my textile jacket snapped right off Had to have a whole new zip fitted onto the jacket which luckily only cost me £15.
Got it fitted within the week, luckily the weather has been fine and dry so got away with just using my summer jacket. ____________________ CBT 5/8/2007 CBT 5/8/2009 Theory Test: 27/04/11 Mod 1: 26/06/11 Mod 2: 30/06/11

Then sort your own kit out, it's your job and your job alone to keep on top of, if you only just got it and have a warranty, take it back, else, buy a new one, fix it, or man up ____________________ Fzr-600 1999 |

Explain to me how the fuck I keep on top of my kit when a clear fault with the product has arisen? Am I supposed to inspect the stitches constantly and sew it back up if it fails? I don't fucking think so, don't be a cock with such a statement.
I have gone out and bought a new one, perhaps I should not wear it so I can look after the stitches
As for looking after kit, I look after my kit a damn load better than most people, my leathers get fed, my boots get cleaned and fed on a regular basis, in fact my old back protector looks just as clean and shiny as my new one, my kit and my bike gets looked after very well. ____________________ Stinkwheel: You have no right to free speech

Take it back then bro, just sayin, if it's a poor quality product then you might aswell name it so people know to avoid it, and take it back if you still have the receipt and got it not long ago

My 2 year old Alpinestars smx-5 boots have just been replaced. The zip ripped and the sole was peeling off for the second time after I had it repaired about 4 months ago. I replaced them with some Gaearne G Ike boots I got for £60 reduced from £160 from a Honda Dealers by me they seem fine so far. Bit disapointed in how long the smx-5 's lasted.
Also my 12 year old handmedown Frank Thomas gloves have seen better days got a few holes in now. Ive been keeping my eyes open for a pair of nearly new second hand Knox Handroids for the right price ____________________ Bikes - 2001 Yamaha R6, 2011 KTM 250 EXC and 2007 Honda CRF 250 |

with Alpinesars stuff, if you've lost the reciept write an email to the head office in italy, explain how long you've had them and tell them how you feel about what has gone wrong, and how much you've paid for them, attach a pic or two
worked for me

Remember, average mileage for a motorcycle in the UK is 4k miles per year.
Take this into account. I do 12k miles a year so I what would last your average rider three years, lasts me 12 months.
I expect to go through a pair of summer gloves every year for example.
My leathers are original bellstaff ones so will last for decades. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
