clutch release mechanism (worm)

Hi all

Had to change the front sprocket cover on a gsx750f which involved removing the clutch release mechanism-worm screw thing to install it on the inside of the new cover. Having removed it, all the little ball bearings just fell out of it. What a bastard...any ideas why this should happen? It was all nicely greased by the looks.

Anyway, i have ordered a new one and just wondered if it comes ready adjusted or will it need some adjusting to get it to move the pushrod properly? I dont wanna muck about with it too much incase all those little ball bearing fuckers fall out again!

I'll find out in due course when i come to install it but just wanted to be prepared. Thanks!

Fitted one recently as mine did the same.

Put it in its little hole after giving it a nice dose of grease. You'll need to adjust it correctly so it pushes on the rod at the correct time, otherwise you'll get what I got, slipping clutch

Once its all together and you have got the cable set to no adjustment on your clutch lever, then whip the rubber off and adjust.
