Hi all,

Ive got a Honda CBR 125, a couple of weeks ago the fuse for the lights/horn blew, I replaced it thinking it was just a one off but it blew again... and again... 5 fuses later I decided that its probably something wrong with the bike. Stripped it down and I can see no bold / pinched wires, cleaned it and put a new fuse in (10amp) and it blew again, put a 20amp fuse in it just to see and that blew as well :s.

Any idea's what this could be?

Thanks,
-Ryan

take all the bulbs out and put the fuse in, switch on the ignition and lights, does it still blow?
turn off ignition, put in the side light, turn on ignition and lights, does it blow?
turn off ignition, put in dip side bulb, turn on ignition and lights, does it still blow?
repeat with the main beam bulb.

doing it this way will at least narrow it down to which (if any) bulb it is, if none, grab a wiring diagram and see what's wired into the same circuit Smile

Take alook at the headlight wires. They run close to the subframe.

Check the battery teminal/starter solenoid and the rear light.

Wires are really tight on the CBRs Neutral

Little tip here. If you have a situation where as above a fuse is constantly blowing, replace the fuse with a sidelight bulb. You can do this by soldering a couple of wires onto the bulb and then onto an old fuse so that you can plug it in.

If the bulb glows bright then you have a short circuit to find. If it only glows half dim when something else is switched on then all should be well. Using this method you can then track through your wiring looking for the fault. When you find it the bulb should go out. A lot cheaper than keep on replacing fuses and a lot safer.
