ok i think i may have cracked it 2 years of bcf'ing and this may be the only meaningful post ive made, we'll see.

so with the help of google maps and street view and it being the start of a new season i thought i would share not a complete list but a few of my favorite roads and bends and invite you to do the same, there must be so many little hidden gems out there people would love to explore.

this one has to do the starting bid the whole road is ace but htis little beauty in the middle rises and drops about 30 meters quite quickly and with the overhanging trees makes it a peach.

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ll=52.290423,-0.7481&spn=0.00042,0.219383&t=h&z=12&layer=c&cbll=52.290415,-0.74784&panoid=WlHuEtovCKKJ2_pPnjusFQ&cbp=12,106.2,,0,17.18

this fav of mine starts at this 90 degree bend and wineds and weaves its way to the village of little harrowden with some brilliant s bends to link up i do advise you scroll down the road to see all of its glory.

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ll=52.305151,-0.783217&spn=0.00042,0.219383&t=h&z=12&layer=c&cbll=52.305151,-0.783217&panoid=NhfJ1Tcgx-JcP1Dk0pJlZQ&cbp=12,88.31,,0,7.04

im particuly fond of this one it nearly killed me at about 90

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ll=52.290003,-0.784149&spn=0.00042,0.219383&t=h&z=12&layer=c&cbll=52.290356,-0.784794&panoid=-4Z-x4xkY1aNfI0HJ4akVQ&cbp=12,118.73,,0,-1.13

this is anothe awsome road but this bend followed by the next are particuly good especially if you get this one good the adrenalines going for the next. . . which is needed as the nest one drops away from you.

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ll=52.261434,-0.695229&spn=0.00042,0.219383&t=h&layer=c&cbll=52.261415,-0.695507&panoid=_WsV2yU6KzWzcJEIxA-Iaw&cbp=12,296.48,,0,-0.42&z=12
i could keep going but i would like to see some of yours. Thumbs Up

Gotta be this road coming into Cheddar through the gorge:

https://g.co/maps/fbyze

And the A368 from Farmborough down to Chew Valley lake, I've been told you can get air on this crest:

https://g.co/maps/yjvr2

I must admit, the front end does get very light!

The Cheddar one is one of my favourites too, But first you need to go up the B3134, through Burrington Combe, then down the B3371.
Don't know if it's just me, but you can feel the temperature dropping as you get close to Cheddar.

Can't really link it to a map, but there are a couple of good roads down here...

One I discovered the other day - The road from Pagglesham to Mersea Island in Essex. Its not THAT twisty and bendy, but the different gradients that the corners are on really make for some interesting riding; for example, there is a rather steep incline, that goes down into a sharp corner then into another hill. Pretty good fun.

Another good road is the country lanes From Ashingdon, through Hullbridge, into Wickford... pretty good road. Its meant to be one of the most dangerous in britain, just because it has very few road markings, its completely un-lit and the corners are stupidly sharp. I've found that you really have to be on the ball to get a good line through some of the corners. Laughing

I will have to find a map with them on a little later Smile

This is the route we take, is that the bit you mean? The B3371 towards the gorge is pretty good but it's fairly sketchy as it's single track and full of cyclists and tractors!

I used to ride a lot from Clevedon way, but now would go this route there. It's the long way 'round, but who cares when the weather's good Smile

If you head out of Othery on the A372 east on the map you can see where the road bends alot, thats the seven bends, only a short bit of road but alot of fun,

Quite like this route I use when testing my bikes after having worked on them.
Mixture of road surfaces. Some corners with negative camber. A few straights for checking wheel and head bearings. Wink

Lots of half decent roads where I live. Around Lake Vyrnwy in Wales first sprung to mind when I thought about good roads.

this has to be one of my favorite pieces of road and i am sure those who know Yorkshire agree,

basically the 169 to whitby from pickering with everything from long sweeping corners to a 180 degree off camber off a cliff section and on a good day beautiful scenery

Quite a boring road to be honest, there are those two dips near RAF Fylindales, then that really sharp corner you are talking about, other than that nothing spectacular IMO.

For me it has to be Norwood, near the Sun Inn.

Set off from Pool Bank, follow signs for Pateley Bridge, blast over the reservoir, up the hill where there's a long uphill left bend. Then when you reach the top the road opens up along with the throttle.

A Squires run through Barwick in Elmet is a good one too.
