(Though, I will add a special exemption if you got it up to the limiter in 6th - did this on my zx9 and managed to dig a decent bit of a hole in the tarmac. Also cause some concern to the petrol station down the road - which the large cloud of smoke was blowing through.)

6th gear and an indicated 170mph!! It went through to the metal in the carcass and started sparking, melted a hole in the tarmac and made a huuuuuuuge cloud of sweet smelling rubber smoke!

I had the perfect situation when walking my bike back with a split down half the tyre and it somehow turned inside out (just down the road) and a biker stopped to ask if I need help; "Oh, don't worry just seem to have got a puncture, almost home so will get it sorted there" :troll:.

Clutch would only be a problem on starting it - once it's going it's not an issue (use clutchless changes going up the gears if you're killing it, obviously).

It's unlikely from 170mph the bike would get grip - more likely if you let the front brake off you'd just start moving forward in a rolling burnout. If you let the brake off and let the revs fall, possibly then, though in sixth gear less likely.

So Tut Tut no excuses Wink.

so... Front brake hard on(ba dum), lots of revs, clutch out fairly quickish, if front starts moving then clutch in ASAP?

clutch out fairly quick would probably see you doing a swift backflip.
front brake on, weight on front, build revs, ease out clutch until rear starts to bite then continues to just spin up, ease off clutch and enjoy smoke.

It's ok to slip the clutch to get it going and this is how I generally do it.
It will put a bit of wear on your clutch - but so will a fast get-away.

The bike you've got depends the revs needed. On the zx9 it was just a case of a teeny bit of slip at lower revs. On a lower powered bike, might need more revs and slipping to get it going and keeping the revs up a bit to stop it stalling.

Then progress to moving with your feet down, then your feet up, then turning with your feet up, etc Smile.
