what to look for when viewing this bike

bar looking at things such as tyres,brakes,seat condition, and any exhaust leaks what else should i look for?

ive been told to ask about when the chain and sprocket were last changed or if they have been and to see when the carbs were last balanced? i think thats right and valve clearances of this could be a pricey bike

Cam chain tensioner noises

General service history and crash history aside, there's not that much that goes wrong with CBR's. Also worth checking whether the suspension has had any kind of overhaul or whether you're going to be replacing fork seals / oil etc to get it back up to condition.

Do you really want to pay the insurance on that - and then like as not drop it - while going no faster than you would on any other 25kW bike?

First thing I would look for is a discount on the price. £2k is too high for that, but saying that someone will probably buy it still.

I'd be looking for the newer CBRs personally as I prefer the look, nothing wrong the the Kawasaki though...go view it, chat about price, see if its for you.

Not quite sure you've given this much thought to be honest. The insurance on a ninja is going to be a huge difference to that of an SV. I'd even bet it'll be more than a CBR. If it's going to be restricted anyway, just go for something that will get the job done and won't cost you the earth.

There's no point having a 100+hp supersports bike, paying through the nose for the privilege and having it restricted.
