 |
|
I'm after your thoughts people, this being a chat forum n all :-
The missus' 6 month old Peugeot scoot broke down on the way home from work today. She's called the Peugeot garage that sold it to her who said they can't pick it up until tomorrow - staff issues - but get this, unless we drop it off to them somehow ourselves (not got the wherewithal to do this btw) - we'll have to pay for the pick up at £60!
I think that's ridiculous and pretty rubbish customer service from them - especially before they can determine the cause of the break down.
What do you think? ____________________ James

She was sitting on vmax (30mph believe it or not) for a couple of hundred yards, already about 10 minutes into her journey. Simply lost drive and clattered to a halt - not seized - she said there was a big old smell of hot/ burning rubber (or oil?) without any obvious external cause. It spins over on the starter but making the proverbial 'skellingtons in a dustbin' clatter without actually firing up. I got her to check the oil level (assuming it had run dry and partially seized) but no; oil level still visible almost up to the filler neck. ____________________ James

@demonic - I'll be give it a good seeing to when I get home - the scoot that is - oh hardy har ha - including taking picutres etc as I could imagine the garage trying to stitch us up with the cause of the break down (I trust no-one you see - and more often than not I'm proven).
@headlamp - good, I'm glad it's not just me that thinks the transport cost should be met by the garage who sold it to us. It'll be a case of py it now, let them sort it and argue the toss afterward... ____________________ James

thanks everyone - I thought it'd be the drivebelt myself - all that constant rubbing up against the speed restriction must've been too much - I'm now on my way home to check it aht...

My scooter did that and I found out that it had overheated and scored the piston causing no compression so obviously no running. |

I'm going to wait until we get it back - wifie's using the car while I use the GPZ for the time being - once we have it and have checked it over/ road tested it, they'll be getting the call/ letter whatever necessary to get my money back and something akin to decent customer service. I will post the name of the dealership when resolved.... ____________________ James

Update - since chasing them up on that Wednesday afternoon and being promised a call back to arrange delivery now that the bike had been fixed (done and dusted on Monday note):-
Heard nothing Thursday.
Wifie was busy Friday, expecting the call at work - none - nor at home - checked the answerphone when she got home from work. She had stuff to do that afternoon and planned to ring 'em and give them an earful when she returned....
She got back home to find - completely out of the blue - the flatbed truck outside the house, dropping off the Scoot, completely by chance as she turned up...What if we'd just left to go away for the weekend? Were they happy to leave the Scoot sitting outside the house after sticking the keys through the letterbox?
Hoho - I'm going to have fun with this letter! ____________________ James
