With a name like 'Bajaj Pulsar' I dread to think.

Looks alright, but do they import to the UK? I suspect it is one of the many bikes we don't get because of emissions regs.

It's basically a cheaper version of the KTM Duke 200, which is imported into the UK. Not sure how many takers they'll get at £4k, however. Shame, as it looks like a pretty decent bike, albeit a bit modern for my tastes.

I'd prefer to see the Suzuki TU250X or Kawasaki Estrella here, but sadly there seems to be little market for such 'sensible' lightweight machines anymore.

I was going to say its like a 200cc version of the Hornet. The new Hornets look a lot like that.

Nice looking bike though all the same.

I've noticed this too, all bikes made from about 2008/09 onwards look like they're made of lego, all pointy angles and sharp corners. What happened to rounded lines and smooth fairings?

As a case in point, I give you the Triumph Tiger Explorer, in all it's Pointy Glory:

https://www.triumphmotorcycles.co.uk/motorcycles/range/adventure/tiger-explorer/2012/7944

It's a nice looking bike, but it looks like you'd catch your nads swinging your leg over.

I had the slightly older version while I was in India (180cc). It's one of the most popular bikes over there. The one I had was inspired by the ducati monster.

It's fairly well made, rides well - soaked up the bumps in the dodgy roads well but still had a decent flickable feel considering it's a budget commuter. It's also (in my eyes) very pretty.

It does suffer from the fact it's designed for the Indian market - the engine is rather asthmatic as it's built to withstand very little maintenance rather than for performance. Also given the high availability of parts and very cheap labour over there it does suffer a little on the build quality - electrics were terrible, bolts would shake loose, tyres had tubes.

If you're willing to maintain it and are not looking for performance then it'll serve you well.

Looks wicked.

I sat on a Duke 125 at the bike show, it's a nice little unit and I was quite tempted to get a 200 for commuting.

In a few years I may still do so once depreciation has done it's work. Laughing

Problem is, everyone will think the same and none will get sold! Laughing

I think that may be part of the problem with bikes like this. The people who like them tend to be skinflints and only ever want to pay secondhand prices for them. Therefore few are sold, so the manufacturers think nobody's interested and stop producing/importing them.
