As I've still not been authorised to join the 'Midlands' group, I figure I'd just see who's about by rogue means instead.

Anyone else from The City of Kings?

I want people to play in the peaks with. And by play in the peaks with, I of course mean, pretend I can keep up with on the 125 Leopard of The Roads.

I'm from Sheffield. Join the North Section.

Don't know of anyone else in the North Section from Sheffield but a fair few from surrounding areas.

I'm in Sheffield for uni, my home is in Stoke though. However, I'm usually out on the bike within 20 miles of Sheffield in the peaks.

You'll get pimp slapped if you class Sheffield as Midlands... No offence to those mid regioners but we are Yorkshire, OOP NORTH Smile

As Ben-B says theres a few 125 riders on sheffieldbikers too who will have you along. I would offer to let you come out with me but I would have lost you within a couple of minutes Very Happy

Like Leigh said, there are a few 125 riders, don't know specifically who as I'm new on both this and that forum, who like to get out on some pretty adventurous rides so I'm sure they'd be happy to have you along.

First steps would be to sign up to sheff bikers and come along to a weekly monday meet and meet some of the guys.

Good God, we're probably neighbours at this rate. Whereabouts in Hillsborough are you? I'm not a million miles away from the Barracks...

Donny here too. Tend to go east to Lincs - Willy Woods, Cadwell and the coast - rather than the Peak District though...

I can imagine the lincs wolds do offer some of the best riding roads in this kind of area. Certainly loved driving round them when I was a bit younger. May have to nip back down that neck of the woods at some point

Stocksbridge resident here.

Which still counts as Sheffield (although the border with Barnsley is distressingly close). I commute into Sheffield on the A6102/Middlewood Rd/Penistown Rd.

Beaslethorpe, you are spoilt for choice on decent roads near here, down through lincs, across the peaks or head north around north yorks and you find some stonking twisties.

You also have two really good destinations for a quick blat, matlock bath and squires - although the coffee at squires isnt so great. I tend to do the run from sheffield, ladybower, hope and castleton to buxton, then head from buxton to bakewell, bakewell to matlock bath as a basic ride for a coffee break and then back via the B roads through to hathersage Smile
