I was planning to shorten the bolts, I've also got a bit of foam out of an old instrument case to put in there to cover the nuts/bolts.
I haven't tried my lid but I don't think it will quite go in there. |

I'd put fatter washers under the bolts myself..

You might want to make sure the lid can be locked down. Otherwise you might get home and wonder where the shopping's gone!
I know the box has clips, but, go over a bump and the lid is likely to fly up and lock back down as if nothing has happened.
I had a cheap back box that seemed to clip down, got home, knew I'd bought some tins but they weren't there. Assumed I had left them at the shop :s
OH was riding the bike and I was following behind when I saw the back box fly open and lock down again. Worked out where the tins had gone
Apart from that, very innovative. |

The clasps on it have got holes for small padlocks and I've just found a couple in the cupbaord at work  |
