I've had mine 5 years and they are still 100% waterproof. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. If you want to save the world, you have to push a few old ladies down the stairs.

Compared to normal boots, what's the sizing like.
Any other recommendations for Waterproof, commuting and some walking around type boots. Price is an issue
Used to wear some combat boots until the sole decided to do it's own thing. Now have you wear my work boots. |

Most 'waterproof' boots are so because of a membrane which is fitted during manufacture and this can, and does, tear sooner or later. Leather treated with waterproofing wax/silicone, did the job for years before the invention of goretex etc and still can. It's not too onerous to give your boots a coat once a week is it? I'd worry more about the quality of the construction, fit and comfort. |
As I said above, my boots have goretex and have been used daily for the best part of 5 years, and they are still water proof. That is probably why people worry, because you can get decent kit that does the job. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. Not sure if you can get these, but the Sidi Onroad were the highest rated for waterproofness in a test done a few years ago. That is what I have and they have worked great. Use them for all my riding, hot or cold. They are holding up great. Just had them resoled. ____________________ Please see my motorcycle tire review sites at https://www.allmotorcycletirereviews.com and https://www.mototirereviews.com. |

Same as other boots for sizing.
Depends what you want from some boots.
I got the TCX as recommended on here, for being waterproof, comfy, long lasting and shin/ankle protection (as shin/ankle protection helped save my leg in a previous crash) ____________________ Rides: Honda XR 125 ('03) Honda CBR 600F ('91), Ducati 916 Biposto ('95) |
