Decided to rebuild the engine my self, have been using you tube as my guide.
now I can't get off any clutch bolts, engine bolts, had to cut off two cylinder head bolts. getting fed up now. first what could cause all these bolts to get stuck? the engine was only rebuilt a year ago, did it overheat or something?

secondly anyone fancy trying to undo the bolts? I live in the new forest and would pay whatever as long as it's less than the extortionate mechanics. getting very fed up! Mad

oh I've tried literally everything even bought a blow torch today to heat the bolts up and still no luck

How hard are you trying to undo them? Have you sheared anything yet? If not, you haven't tried hard enough.

*could* try a rattle gun to free them off. I have done this in the past but you need to make sure it's on straight and the socket is a good, tight fit because if it jumps you'll wreck the head.

I usually tighten them up a little first.
Just enough to "crack" seal which has formed over the years.

Thumbs Up

If you have further issues it might be worth (if safe to do so) to try and bit of heat on the area as if the bolt and the metal around it are different they will expand at different rates so can sometimes losen enough, I would suggest plusgassing it first though, ive only heard good things about it

finally got round to trying out the plusgas and impact screwdriver as was ill last weekend, worked a treat.
going to try and get a video up to explain what's wrong with the clutch as i'm thinking the engine probably dosen't need splitting.
thanks for all the help so far!

What he said. Another way to do this is to tap the screw (not too hard) with a drill bit and hammer, if you cant make it any tighter.

When rebuilding a KE125 engine i found that a couple screws were kind of bent from the central point of the screw, probably because the holes in the engine cases were off a little, or maybe just vibrations from the enfine. This may be similar to what you're experiencing with those screws...

An impact driver. Or an impact screwdriver.

Do not use them on stuck fairing bolts as my mate did, putting a huge hole in the nose of his laverda.

Absolutely not that oil!

You need engine/gearbox oil. I'd imagine you'll want SAE 10w/40 semi or fully synthetic. If you have a manual it will specify in there.

Hopefully someone here can tell you for certain what oil to use.
