Pavilion DM1 screen issue

Hello all,

HP Pavilion dm1 was working fine. Turned it on a couple of days ago and the screen display was just blue lines. Moved the screen up and down and the picture came back, then went again. Now its split, the left 50% is grey an the right 50% is white. No issue using an external screen.
No loose wires so suspect either the motherboard - screen cable, or screen itself. It looks like the inverter is integral into the screen. Any thoughts ?

I've been doing some more research on the web and it looks like its quite a common fault with the screen packing up. The action of moving it around makes it work for a short while before it dies completely. So, I've ordered a new screen. However, whilst I've got it apart I'll check the cable too.
