 |

I have this problem which suggests im getting something wrong.
When im movinf round a roundabout and im covering the clutch lever. or coming up to a junction and operating the clutch lever. I find it really awkward to flick the indicator on as well or when going to exit a roundabout flicking the indicator over. It feels like im getting something really wrong, or is indicator operation just awkward like that for everyone.
An example of where i get really bad at this is when im moving off from where i park near work. I park at the bike space just outside the Rober Gordon University building here, https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a&q=google+maps+schoolhill+aberdeen+uk&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x48840e3ccfb8c1c3:0xfc80c3a055ca459f,Schoolhill,+Aberdeen&gl=uk&ei=p5KmT9eBHYrJ8gP9tKWfBA&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CCIQ8gEwAA
I move off in a nice controlled way, balancing clutch throttle and brake to ease carefully through the crowd of mad children from the nearby school and iPhone obsessed students, to the junction with the intention of going either right or left. I then have to indicate but im also operating the clutch so i can dribble along at a slow walking pace to the line of the junction. I could just stop then indicate but thats not the best thing to do. This awkwardness can really balls up my slow speed control as i ficker about with my thumb. I cant just go full off the clutch at a place like this as there are so many pedestrians around.
Any help appreciated, i feel like a tool having these kind of problems. |

It's one of those things that comes with practice.
Just wait until you do the big-revs-go-for-the-indicator-but-hit-the-horn manouvere. Everyone looks cos they think you beeped for them, but it's just you being 'tardish and fumbly |

Just practice by sitting on your bike while it's off and let your clutch out halfway while pressing the indicator.
It's just something you learn to do. I used to struggle with the same problem but now it's just second nature to use the clutch and indicator at the same time.
As for accidentally using the horn, I've done that a few times followed by me looking round to pretend it's not me lol |

Stop covering the clutch. Coasting or changing gear is a no-no whilst cornering. As said above, try indicating earlier in the sequence. ____________________ Triumph Daytona 675 track bike + girlfriend's Honda Hornet 600

I'm getting better at tempering my hornyness hahaa and I'm keeping off the clutch on roundabouts. I've also noticed that the switch mounting on the clutch side is seperate from the lever and grip so I might be able to move it around into a more usable position. I have big hands so tend to find my thumb over reaches for the actual switch. Has any one else done this?
