If you aren't sports bike orientated it's a cracking bike. I can't ride a sports bike for long without a lot of pain, I can the striple, and to be honest it suits me. 100 is about the fastest before I become a sail and it becomes a trial to ride. Sub 100 should keep me out of gaol! ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

Went from a K7 Gsxr 750 to a new Street Triple R 5 weeks ago, same thing for me, sore wrists, cramp, going too fast cos I could etc, boy am I glad I changed. The Striple has to be the most fun bike I've ridden since the days of the YPVS, it's like a powervalve on steroids.
Comfortable, sharp handling, good brakes and the engine is a peach, just roll it on from 2K in any gear and it goes. Not much slower than the gixxer when you wind it on so I bet it's at least on par with the 600 version but in a more relaxed way.
No choice for me, STR every time.

If you have one of the best 600cc supersports in the world, and don't enjoy it to the power of 1000000, you obviously have to change bike.

My friend had the L1 and it was smooth and really lovely with a Akra Moto GP exhaust. Guaranteed everyone looks at your bike.
The Triumphs have had such good feedback and is the in thing now though. ____________________ Hit the G spot. |

Thanks for the feedback everyone, much appreciated
I'm torn today as to what I should do - had an opportunity to go out for a bit, even though it is raining, and the Gixxer has a lot of things going for it.
Bottom line - I need to test ride the Striple and have a back to back comparison. ____________________ Bike: Ducati Monster 1100 evo

the gixxer is probably the best/most accomodating of the sports 600's. If you can't feel happy on one, you need a striple/hornet/fazer type bike.
The street triple is the dogs bollocks of the nakeds. I've ridden them all, own a striple and a fazer 600 & wifey has n er6N. The street triple is in a clss of its own.

I had a chat with a friend who is also a bike instructor today and he reckons I'm just riding the Gixxer wrong and need to adopt a better riding position for sports bikes.
He mentioned a few things he believes I'm doing wrong and so I'll try his remedies starting tomorrow. If it works, great, I'll keep the Gixxer. If not, hello Street Triple R. ____________________ Bike: Ducati Monster 1100 evo
