Do all the checks, including lifesaver when turning right into a junction, make sure you watch out for national speed limit signs, sometimes they are hidden behind a tree or a post, i found out yesterday that when i entered the road i somehow spotted 20mph zone behind a thick tree, also do national speed limit on dual carriageway i failed my test for that yesterday because i was too nerveous.
Be confident, don't let the instructor bother you that much, he might slow down and even hide behind a car to check your reaction like he did yesterday with me, always stay in left hand lane unless told otherwise for example when we approached the traffic light i was in a right hand lane and he was in a left behind a car, so i had to overtake a car to get back to left hand lane which was done fine but still is better to avoid that extra risk especially when doing the test, check your radio communication and make sure the earpiece is stable and that the volume is up! Becareful on the junctions make sure you observe but at the same don't hesitate to move out, and if going down a hill break a little to hold steady speed! Also indicate at the roundabout don't forget! Have a look at show & tell questions!
Last piece of advice from me is to just forget about the instructor when driving, just imagine he/she is just a sat/nav, but also sometimes have a look at what he/she is doing behind you ,
and don't come too early that will just make you feel very anxious!
Good luck and enjoy the ride! ____________________ Theory passed 9/03/2012, Mod 1 passed 29/03/2012, Mod 2 passed 19/07/2012. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlXP1ip93Zs&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PLF9DC1A812AC74FD8 helped me. There are several more useful videos like that on YouTube, which helped me get into the habit of doing all the correct obs and other little things the examiner wants to see. ____________________ 1998 CG125 (Sold) CB500 [+ Clio 172]

What if the speed limit is 70 (NSL) and your bike can only do 65...? I presume thats not a fail because its not too far off of the 70 limit... Hmm. ____________________ CBT Passed - 22 / 10 / 11 >> Theory Passed - 16 / 02 / 2012 >> Mod 1 Passed - 07 / 03 / 2012 >> Mod 2 Passed - 18 / 05 / 2012. |

Will not be an issue.
The Examiner will allow for 125's no worries on that score.
Now, if your bike were shagged and could only do 45 then he might have an issue ____________________ My Lane Position is always AWESOME!! |

Good luck Joe
The examiner will be well aware of what speed your bike is capable of so don't worry |

Examiner, not instructor. And try not to be so paranoid, eh?
| RomanMotard wrote: | always stay in left hand lane unless told otherwise |
You're under test, not "instruction". If you have to be told what lane to be in, you're probably not ready to ride around on your own, let alone on a full license.
| RomanMotard wrote: | Last piece of advice from me is to just forget about the instructor when driving, just imagine he/she is just a sat/nav, but also sometimes have a look at what he/she is doing behind you |
And then do what? A last second lane change? Change to his lane just as he changes to yours?
It's hard to do, but try to forget about the examiner completely and ignore his bike or car. If you looking to him for clues about what you should be doing, then you're more likely to miss something important in front of you - that's how I failed my first try, missing an unmarked junction because I was obsessing over the bike sitting up my tailpipe. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

If you accidentally go the wrong way, don't try and correct yourself at the last second and up with a serious fault.
Doesn't matter if you go the wrong way, as long as you do it safely.
And try and keep calm whilst you're waiting.
Nerves don't do you any good at all.
Good luck. |

Look for the bus lane times on a big blue sign. It will tell you whether it is actually a bus lane at that time. If you're outside the times posted, it's a regular lane so use it if you need to. TBH, if you don't know the rules on bus lanes by now, I'm not sure whether you're ready for Mod 2. Read the highway code and learn the signs and rules - they will tell you everything you need to know when out on the road.
On my Mod 2, I entered a bus lane when it WAS a bus lane, but came out again safely when I saw the repeater sign further along. Got a minor for that, I think the examiner was looking for safe manoevres and didn't automatically fail me for going into one when I shouldn't have. However, it did make me think I'd failed at that point and relaxed a bit for the rest of the ride which went alot better. Look for signs, follow their instructions, cancel your indicators and make sure your obs have been noted. If you can relax it will go much smoother, but it's hard to calm down when under the microscope. You have passed the tough one (Mod 1) after all, Mod 2 is alot more forgiving of little errors which are more difficult for the examiner to see than on the MPTC pad. ____________________ INSTALLING SUMMER... ████████░░░░░░░░44% DONE. Bus lanes are a good one, we've had people say that they were failed for not using one outside of its posted hours. So don't just avoid them all, you do have to read the sign and then avoid or use them as appropriate. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Well, basically...you BETTER, as long as you are outside the times where you are not allowed.
It will vary though.
In London you can ride in a lot of them now (at any time of day) and you would be expected to do so, as it's the inside lane. They like it if you ride in the inside lane, it's like...well, you're sposed to
If it's got a Motorbike in the blue sign, use it, no matter the times shown.
If it's got a stupid Bicycle and a stupid bus then do not. UNLESS you're OUTSIDE the times shown.
So, if it states:
Mon-Fri
7-10 a.m
(without the Motorbike sign) and it's 8:a.m YOU CANNOT USE IT!!
If you're outside the times shown, get in there.
He (your examiner) will love you for it and will be throwing pass certificates at you
Good luck!! ____________________ My Lane Position is always AWESOME!! |
