Yeah you done good.
Used to be a great relief to me when I was pootling along redlining the H100 and the OH was behind me stopping the cars from getting too close. It's something I have done myself once or twice over the years.

Did the rider in front have L plates and appear to need any kind of help or assistance?
If that had been me, on a 125 in a headwind, having some well-meaning twonk ticking along just behind me in a lane would have made me want to get off and deck the cunt.

Nice act of kindness there
I have done similar when a mates bandit did its farting walrus routine (knackered coil, drops to 2 cylinders if it rains) |

I'd have overtook him leaving him with inchs of room at roughly 140mph giving him a nice vortex of wind tunnel to deal with aswell as arsehole drivers
You did a good thing imo. ____________________ EMRA Roadstock #92 - Paperwork Permitted.

If that was me on the 125 (well it could well be me as I have a 125) I would have appreciated some help.
Doing 45mph, into a headwind on a 125 has nothing to do with ability, just the laws of physics.
And it is no bad thing that one biker helps another.
To those that wouldn't of helped

This biker brotherhood thing is stupid.
One person who may or may not actually care about motorcycles as much as I do or do not is riding their motorcycle on a road at the same time as me.
They are not old/rich/ballsy enough to have a big enough bike to ride at proper speeds so I will ride behind them and protect them from the big bad cagers?

Yeah, but in the olden days it prolly didn't used to be like that
I'd stop, if I thought someone needed help.
I have in the past, and I still would now (even though I could probably be of little practical use).
But then again, I occasionally haven't.
But my point was that the OP didn't actually ask "Do you need help?" - he presumed the other biker required his assistance, and did what he believes is a nice gesture.
Ain't nothing wrong with nice gestures, I'm a major fan of them myself.
But in some situations I'd get annoyed with a well-meaning gesture, and probably cop the hump. Especially if the person offering assistance hasn't actually asked do I need help and received an answer in the affirmative.
But then I've always been a grumpy old cow ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |
