Is it a Suzuki sportsbike thats for sale your looking at ad's for?

If so TRE could mean timing retard eliminator, which is a little piggyback black box that plugs into the bikes ECU loom usually, and it removes the softening of the power delivery in the lower gears, so that the bike has as much go throughout the rev range in the lower gears as it does in top etc.

It's a bit like with some high performance turbocharged car's when the manufacturer uses the ECU to restrict the boost pressure in the lower gears with the aim of making the have better traction and be able to use the power better, instead of smoking the tyres or causing violent torque steer etc.

The TRE for the Hayabusa (the cheap ones at least) tricked the bike into thinking it was in 5th gear, that way theres no limiter in 6th at the 186mph mark!

If I remember correctly that is! Confused

On the SV, Suzuki restrict the performance in lower gears (2nd and 3rd from memory), to ease compliance with Euro noise regs or similar. You could buy a little box to trick the ECU into not recognising that is in these gears.

After one of Warped's posts, TRE means "The Real Events" and describes what actually happened.

I.e.

warped wrote:

TRE

Warped farted in Boots.
