Well after weeks of looking i have finally got my bike sv650. I went to guildford earlier to collect it in a van. Eventually got the bloody thing in the van and brought it home. Only to find out when i got home the bike had slipped of the paddock stand. So now i have a lovely scratch on the rear hugger Sad

Other then that i am well pleased and am itching to take it for a spin Laughing

I will post pic of it tomorrow

That nearly allways happens, during transport, or the first few days of overship bikes allways get scuffed/damaged. Just dont beat yourself up over it and learn from it.

SV's are lovely bikes which combine good looks, practicality, good handleing with a bargin pricetag. The only faults found with it are from hardcore superbikers who could find fault with anything, so dont listen Wink

Unfortunatly you've picked a tough time of the year to start due to the weather, but so long as its dry and you wrap up warm you will still have huge amounts of fun on it!
So wait till its dry and get on those country lanes! Very Happy Thumbs Up

Getting one with a full fairing was a wise choice!
I was thinking about getting one for a while, but i was really put off by the look of the thing (tart i know... Razz) But as soon as i saw one with a full fairing i completly changed my opinion of its looks. I guess it just look incomplete with only the front fairing.
Well done for buying a whole one Wink

IMO

Car driving doesn't count for /that/ much unless you have the awareness and observationbal skills that are required for riding a bike on the road. In my experience very few car drivers have this.

Personally I would say that getting a 125 for a bit is the right thing to do, but also bear in mind that in the RiDE magazine survey conducted each year the RS125 is always the most crashed bike!

Get the bike, take it easy and act like everyone on the road is out to get you and you will hopefully do well! Smile

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Hi, When i first saw the SV i didnt like it either. I seen the version with only half the fairings and i through it was missing something. But once i seen one with the full fairings on then it started to grow on me. The main reason i got that one oh is due to it had alot of extra's already fitted and was at a price i could afford.
