Can you use just the pull?

My old carbs had just a single cable but the new ones have a push/pull mechanism. They spring back on their own so could I use just the pull cable? Not even 100% both cables will fit through my throttle housing/switchgear as I don't know how they connect up.

Cheers

Yes. Just a pull is fine, push is just a safety in case of an unlikely failure really

Yes you can.
The old Kawasaki GT550 should according to the specs have a push-pull. However mine came with just the single cable. I know this as it had to be replaced recently. Caution though as for me for some reason new cable not quite same as old so low speed work is a pain.

My pull cable snapped and i had no throttle so i swapped them round on the carb and had to use the twist the opposite to normal.

Only 100 miles to home but nearly killed myself several times

Surely it'd have been short work to swop at the bar as well?
