Doh.. the battery
Didn't think of that, the guy I got it off said it hadn't long been
replaced, might have been lying, or could just be a dud battery.
I'll buy a new one tomorrow, see if that helps. ____________________ ......................................................................... |

You can do a simple test.
Charge battery.
Tale the caps off the top of battery, make sure there is electrolyte/acid covering the cells and charge it.
Once charged, disconnect the small wires from ignition coil (LT wires) and while looking at the battery try to start the bike, obviously it won't start but it'll be loading the battery, if it has dead cells they will overheat and bubble, obviously more than the others.
If it does this you definitely have a duff battery, if it doesn't it could still be battery fault but need testing other ways.
Could be an answer and maybe save buying a battery without need. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? well it turns out it was a faulty reg / rec.
very strange as I thought they either worked or didn't work, any reason why it should have the correct output at idle but drop off when revving?
Going up through the revs the output of the reg / rec was dropping off so wasn't charging the battery.
£15 used part from ebay sorted it out.
The old battery is also holding a charge and charging up now
ah well, have a spare battery ____________________ ......................................................................... |
