using bike ncb on car insurence ??

hello have asked this before sort of,

im trying to find a insurence company that will accept bike no claims bonus for use with car insurence ?

The only company i can find that does it is Ecar but it is cheaper to go with another company with no ncb that with Ecar and 4 years ncb.

After names of insurence companys

This 4 years ncb i have i intend to just use on a single car and not on a bike.

- EU bonus (if provided in English by a sworn translator)
- Commercial vehicle bonus
- Private car bonus
- Company car claim free driving experience (subject to letter on company headed paper from insured’s employer showing driving dates, claim details and confirmation of sole use of vehicle)
- Motorcycle bonus

boundy - as said i tried Ecar and there a rip off.

Swift cover declined me before i got a chance to put a car in cant see why.

Any other ideas?

Remember that this year eCar will be a rip off, but after that you'll have the NCB to take elsewhere. After the fact it may work out better.

I think MCE have branched out into car insurance as well, could be wrong.

I'm told Hastings Direct will do it, and there's a few others. Google around, the info's already out there! Search discussion results only, lots comes up.

I'm considering starting a new bike policy for the Geeperz to build a second NCB for this purpose (or possibly chuck the 4 years from the bandit onto a cage, not sure yet. Depends how much difference it'd make. More research needed.)

All a bit hypothetical right now as I blatantly can't afford a car anyway. Kind of wish I'd got my license etc when I was 17 now! Oh well.

Yeh that is the plan as there are cheaper comapnies out there but they dont accept bike ncb so need to get through the first year,

Problem with ecar they are that much more epencive it would be cheaper to insure with a different insurence company with zero ncb

I saw an email to say mc
e are selling cover for cars now.
I have separate policies for my car, and both bikes
Each earn their own NCD.
The bit that I don't know for sure is if I claim it will affect all three policies. ???

Pretty sure, could be wrong:

The claim will only affect the NCB on the relevant policy, but obviously the claim against you will affect the premiums on all policies as you'll have to declare it at renewal.

I had a claim on one policy (about midway through that year) at 17, so when I got my first big bike very shortly afterwards I started a new policy to start the new NCB earlier, rather than at renewal.

This means that the claim is concurrent with that lot of NCB, sort of, if you see what I mean! Never been a problem!

Half my problem is i dont want a crap car 1.1 saxo etc so insurance is going to be high

I thought yea get the 1st year done then go else where,but what happens when you go to insure with somone else you put down 4 years ncb yet 1 year held the license.

Bite the bullett and pay 1800 for the civic i want

Double post, but:

This may not be a problem... As long as you've held a bike license, you've held a provisional car license as well. It's possible to obtain NCB on a provisional, my friend did, so I'd say this wont be an issue.

Carole Nash insurance brokers offered to use my bike's NCB minus one year for my car.

They still quoted me £3,500 for my car insurance TPFT so it wasn't the most competitive but at least they still offered it!
