hi everyone i have a suzuki burgman 125 2005 model as it is the lights are great but i usually upgrade all my bikes to hids for slightly more power most scooters usually only have one light going at a time but this one has two going constantly.

the bulbs that are in the bike at the moment are halogen h4 35w and im wondering if i can run two hid's which are also 35w theoretically it should work but wanted to confirm it first.

thanks in advance Smile[/b]

Gonna drain a lot of juice but should be doable. Bit OTT having 2 HID kits though imo

yeah i just thought as the bike had 2 bulbs running all the time it would be ok with 2 hid bulbs running aswell just remembered these use more current than halogens.

They use less power than standard bulbs.

It may be possible but IIRC just changing the bulbs isn't legal.

This is because the the beam generated is wrong because the reflector bit and the light is shows is designed (and approved) for whatever the default bulb is. Just changing the bulbs changes this so isn't right.

However, I think if you change the whole lens assembly then it's ok.

Can do it but might be picked up on come MOT time, might not. If stopped by the police and they want it looked at request a deferred inspection.

I mention this because I believe the law still specifies a certain wattage for bulbs yet with cars using LEDs this obviously isn't the case (unless I missed an update).

Thumbs Up
