Whats grease will offer the best protection to needle bearings and limit the risk of the bushes seizing in them ?

cheers

Most any decent grease from the likes of Halfords will do.But do not use copaslip.

I would use moly grease,as I have done on the likes of all of my bikes. But if you cannot find a moly type then use a high melting point (HMP) as made by Castrol. It is only about £3 or so for a tub of the stuff.

Moly (molybdenum disulfide) grease is particularly good at stopping dry contact (and therefore wear) between bearing surfaces

https://www.molyslip.co.uk/theory_of_lubrication/

what this translates to is that when normal greases have been all spooged out the side of the bearing, the moly grease should continue to provide some more protection as the surfaces have some chemically adhered lubrication...

what this translates to is that if you're going to forget to grease the bearings regularly, moly grease will help extend their life. If you do it regularly, the benifits of the moly are unlikely to be realised - especially in a needle bearing which unlike a a simple bush tend to hold on to their grease better (always some space for grease to lie between the rollers)

You don't say what application these bearings are being used in but I'm going to assume a shock linkage of some sort.

In which case one of the best things you could do is drill and tap the linkage and fit a grease nipple in an appropriate place while you have it apart. Then you can pump grease into them every time you do an oil change.

Failing that. The packs of moly grease they use for car CV joints is absolutely superb.

Can not be done due to the cadged needle bearing covering the whole length of the linkage
