CB125 T 89 idle problems*

Hi all,

I got my bike rebuilt and it started first time, after a few carb bowl seal issues.

I cannot get it to idle what so ever, and it only starts with the choke on, it still runs if you turn the choke off, but you have to keep revving it. Ive had the idle/pilot jets out and i cannot get anything through the little hole in the screwdriver slot, but im not sure if your supposed to be able to on that jet, but i would presume so. Could that be the problem?

Im not sure if a bike has to be running for an MOT but id like it to be, and i plan on booking it this weekend or early next week.

yeah there should be a clear hole through the jets with no blockages or any muck at all anywhere near it.
It does sound like not enough fuel is getting through your idle jet. Maybe you could try getting it out again and giving it a good blow through and a clean incase it is blocked.

Give all jets a blow with compressed air or carb cleaner all holes possible

Strip some copper wire to make a pick and try to poke that through the orifices.

Carb/Brake cleaner straw held over holes and skoot.

I tried everything with them, they were completely blocked i had another mechanic look at them who builds race engines and he said they were corroded solid, Im going to order some Keihin star #38 pilot jets for it now

Ah i didn't know whether that kit would work/was the right one you see, ill order that instead. Glad i hung on haha
