Help me mount this sissy rack bag for karma

Got this leather bag for my bike, but the straps it comes with dont work well. Mainly because my sissy bar is stubby and not long like some other bikes, so the straps cant go over it. So i need a solution on how to fix it to the bike securely, but at the same time so its easy to remove. Pics to show what i mean:

Was going to clip this together under the leather sissy back rest but its too short even on its longest setting:

Any advice would be great. Im thinking maybe a thick luggage strap going from between the back plate and leather back rest, looped under the sissy bar and over the top and tightened, holding the bag in place. Any other ideas?

Could you not loop it so that the strap is wrapped around the bars on both side, then adjust it good and tight?

That would prevent it from sliding up and coming off, which seems to be your main problem from what I can see.

Don't buy bags that are designed for long sissy bars? Seriously - the design of that indicates that most of the anchoring work is done by the large elastic straps, that would presumably have the chromework hidden behind them. You're not going to get it to sit securely, at least not without some major surgery to either the bag or the bar.

You could jubilee clip some flat bar to each upright of the backrest to extend it as an A frame, but it'll be fugly. If the bag is intended to be a permanent fixture, I'd be tempted to cut the short rest off and get some bar bent to suit to slot in the holes left.

Turn it round and have it on the rear of your seat rather than the rack. Still have the elastic bit over the sissy bar but as the bag will sit lower it may grip better. If it doesn't, possibly cable tie or strap the top elastic bit to the top of the sissy bar.

Thanks, theres a longer sissy bar going on Ebay at the moment, fairly local pickup too, might just get that lol

Go to Poundland, (other cheap shops are available), find a bum-bag, or similar with the same size fittings as your strap, remove strap from bum-bag and attach it to your strap, you now have a longer strap!

Job done for a quid!
