It'll most likely be CDI, as opposed to points ignition.
From what I remember of my Chinese thing, the killswitch stops it from sparking, not turning over, so I'd have the switchgear apart, and check the state of the contacts. I've been inside Chinese switchgear before, and it's not very complicated, so don't worry about getting confused when you've got it apart; it's really, really simply laid out. ____________________ '10 SV650SF, '83 GS650GT (it lives!), Questionable DIY dash project, 3D Printer project, Lasercutter project |

Another vote for the CDI, had a Vonroad 125 scoot gifted to me from a mate and turned out to be the CDI that had gone kaput seems to be a point of fault on chinky bikes. ____________________ Current: 02 FZS 1000 & 91 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Some Bike Pics...

it was the sidestand switch. thanks.
she runs! can't get a chain today wemoto is shut
other than that, the wheels don't turn very freely. no play in wheel so not sure if bearings rusted or brakes binding...
needs new brake fluid tho, rear brake has a poo.brown colour to it.
should I change fork oil? bike almost 3 years old.
TGB interested in doing the brakes and forks? two things I can't really be fucked with myself. |

Good news fella, I suggested the side stand switch as my GN had the same problem. Glad she's running, seems a good buy for £200! ____________________ CBT: Pass 25/06/2011 Theory Test: Pass12/06/2012 Mod 1: Fail 08/07/2012

There should be a pair of bullet connectors dangling down under the left plastic, they need to be plugged together for bike to spark (switch should be open with stand down).
It should not be removed.. if its dodgy replace with one from a proper bike. It is very easy to ride off with the side stand down |
