Keep your tools secure... It took some hitting things with rocks and people holding the back wheel off the floor to drop the back wheel out to get that spanner out of there and get the bike mobile again. The toolkit from the Daytona was very useful
The rider was very lucky that it happened at about 10 mph as we were slowing down for a junction, it locked the rear wheel solid and wouldn't even rock backwards (can't see it in the picture but the other end is wedged against the top of the swing arm). |

And I thought the spanner (not mine) through my brand-new rear a few years ago was bad. ____________________ "There's the horizon! Ride hard, ride fast and cut down all who stand in your way!" |

I presume its more comprehensive than the D675 toolkit then? It consists of a Philips screwdriver and a 5mm Allen key, which you have to use to get to the screwdriver! ____________________ Triumph Daytona 675 track bike + girlfriend's Honda Hornet 600

All that said. If it put that much of a bend in it at 15mph. At 100mph it would probably have gone right round and spat out the other side or destroyed the chain.
Should have seen what happened to the brake torsion bar on my GPZ500 when it came adrift at about 70mph. It would have locked the wheel too if it hadn't ripped the footpeg hanger casting off the bike then wrapped itself three times round the rear wheel spindle and sheared off at the other end. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. I have the same model and the toolkit (kept under the seat) is a little split at the side. I'll definitely be sorting that out. |
