As far as I know, this (for a 1 wheel trailer):
- Motorcycles must exceed 125 cc
- The weight of the trailer and it’s load must not exceed 150 Kg or two thirds of the motorcycles unladen weight, whichever is lightest.
- The Motorcycle must be marked with it’s kerbside weight.
- The Motorcycle must be marked with it’s unladen weight.
- Maximum width of the trailer is one metre.
- Maximum length of the trailer is 2.5 metres, measured from the motorcycle rear wheel spindle to the rearmost part of the trailer.
- The UK speed limit is 60 mph on dual carriageways and motorways. Can't use 3rd lane on motorways.
- Lighting regulations are the same as other small trailers.
Can't see there being any restrictions on what you can take (well, other than controlled goods) so long as it fits inside of the weight/dimension limits, which the pit bike should easily do.
Just make sure you strap it down properly ____________________ 2004 R1 & 2018 XSR900 |

Carried a minimoto on the back of my x11 once.
Was fairly secure.
I'll ride it there for you if you can't find another way. Don't mind the slowness. ____________________ Previous: GSF600, FZR600 x2, ZXR750, XT600 Tenere, CB125, CZ125, ETZ 250, ER5, CCM R30, DRZ400, RF600x4, RF900x2, GS500, VTR1000F, 640 SMC, CB250 NIGHTHAWK, GT550x3, GPX750 TE610, CB500, X11x2, SV650, ZING 125, TL1000R,CB250 Superdream, CBR1100XX |

Have you got road tyres on the pit bike?
I'd be tempted to attach it to the swingarm, lock the bars soldid and make it the trailer it's self.
If it's pretty light, you could also consider making a rack on putting it on the back of the bike - across the pillion seat maybe - as it's going to weigh a good chunk less than a pillion.
Make up a pad so it doesn't stick sharp bits in to your and you've got a nice back rest too . |
