Yeah I'm counting myself lucky here. Always on the lookout for old bill. Shocked

If you cover your mirrors, assume every car is a cop. And look out for fixed cameras and camera vans, and also handheld cameras you should be ok.

Better to speed in places you know.

I've been done by a fixed camera before but got off with a speed awareness course.

My points are from a PC at the side of the road, 86 in a 50, £400 fine and 6 points. Ouch.

There's a chap on here that got flashed on his 125 by a clearly exposed GATSO on a wide open stretch of road, then started asking whether an R6 would be too slow and should he go straight for an R1. Doh!

Anyway, not been handed any Speed Tax for a while, but they'd probably have to use an hour glass to time me. Dance!

Just to point out, mine was one of the Limehouse Link tunnels just leaving London. Far from obvious, first time I'd ever used the tunnel and I was trying to read a sign where the tunnel splits.

No wide open road for me!

This. Never been caught because I dont break the speed limit on Her Magestys public highways. Any time I do any speeding is on a private road. I am always startled by the amount of private roads I find but thats another matter. Shifty

luckily he was a biker and said these little machines can over/under read easily

Been stopped directly for speeding twice by marked traffic cars. Both times using VASCAR, both times hidden up sideroads where they couldn't be seen until you were already past them. 3 points and £60 fine for 98 on a motorway. A referral the the fiscals office then nothing further heard for 95 in a 60 limit.

Stopped twice by on-foot coppers with a handheld gun. One was just chancing his luck because I'd seen him and thrown out the anchor in time so I was lippy as fuck.

The other got me as I whanged round a corner doing 60 in a 30 limit having just overtaken someone. Got let off because they were impressed by my braking skills. He said he was getting ready to walk down the road and give me the "What if I'd been a small child who'd run out in the road." lecture but I went and stopped before I got to him.

It would appear I also totally burned off a traffic car one time too but I didn't know I was being chased until he went honking past the side road I'd parked up in.

Got done ages ago by an unmarked Pan Euro, 53 in a 40. All his equipment was very well hidden - the black bike, black leathers but white helmet raised my suspicions so I had a look over the bike when I passed him but didn't see anything Doh!

Pulled a stoppy at the lights, and a wheelie away from them and got a right bollocking for it Laughing

That's a pretty impressive speed for an indicated on a 4-stroke 125 but I never expected you to be able to get to a real 78mph. I got my CG just over an indicated 70mph once on a steep downhill section, it had nothing else to give Laughing.

two very different beasts, cb twin cylinder cg single cylinder, cg push rod engine max rpm 10500, cb over head cam redline @ 12500 rpm but will push through and off the clock on the right hills lol

edit redline 12000 rpm

Riding daily for 7 years, never been caught on the bike.

Driving for 20+ years, only caught once by a handheld for 46 in a 30(slowing down from NSL road - but apparently didn't slow down quickly enough Rolling Eyes )

Either I'm very careful / lucky, or I just drive and ride like a granny - I suspect it's mostly the latter

Got pulled over on my GSXR 750 WN by an unmarked police car on the A2. Got let off with a warning!
Speed they had me on their video was a lot less than I was doing 2mins before they pulled me, which was rather lucky!!

Assuming in the next 6 days I don't get a NIP, I've never been caught on the bike. In the car, a mixture of camera van and unmarked car.
