Everyone has one at some point, It's taken me a total of 17 cheap hacks, 5 sensible road bikes, and a project with a cost estimation that's stratospheric to find the one bike I truly wish to just keep and keep.

Now by now everyone knows which bike that is, so I shan't go into it =P

What's your first motorcycling love? Whats the story behind it? Very Happy

It's 2:38 and I've just had a double brew of Rocket Fuel branded Coffee... Im buzzin off my tits and bored so I apologise for such an unusual post from me =P

First bike ever was a Puch Maxi on my 16th birthday - in the days before CBT's - you just got your provisional and rode it.

Shit bike mind, fell apart after 2 weeks.

2nd bike was an old yamaha fizzy - now that was fucking awesome!!

An RD250. My 2nd 'big' bike (in those days a 500 was massive and a 750 was Shocked Shocked Shocked ). I loved that bike.

The bike I really regret selling though was this -
https://img268.imageshack.us/img268/1306/p2280001v.jpg

a Tiger 955i that I got for peanuts, sold for a huge profit and regret selling it every day. The most comfortable bike for touring I have owned other than my 1800 Wing, and so much more fun. I really want another Crying or Very sad

Another vote for the Puch Maxi. It was my first bike and my ticket to freedom at 16. I sold it in 2008 ish after it had sat in the garage for 2 years un used and instantly regretted it. I constantly look out for it coming up for sale on ebay and the local classified website. I

f anyone owns it on here X** *28K let me know! It's Purple '72 maxi s with mag wheels and long seat.

The sad thing is the father and son i sold it to can't be using it as it hasnt been taxed since it left me Crying or Very sad

Appreciate that mate!

Im a real lover of small capacity machines. I never find myself virtual window shopping for big bikes on ebay, its always for old <250 two smokes!

I do intend to get a moped project on the go once my finances are sorted out (just purchased a wreck of a house with no kitchen or bathroom!) and intend on doing what you have done with the mosquito. It was always my intention to tune up my maxi when i had it but at 16/17 with no job it wasn't really an option.

I know i will end up buying different puch/tomos but i still live in hope of finding my old one!

My first bike was an un road worthy CZ125 that I used to ride up and down the garages behind my house in Belfast but my first love was a little RXS100. It was the first bike I got insurance for and was able to ride around the countryside with. That fist taste of independence, no more buses, taxi's etc. Loved it.

Just sayin', there's one here waitin and all it will cost you is the transport to fetch it. And does this mean I'll have a rival some day? =P

Easy, one for the oldies..... A 72 Fantic Cabellero (?) at 16.

It came up cheap as the previous wasn't as good at wheelie's as he thought, once a few bits and bobs were hacked, hammered or replaced it was sheer heaven.

Parents moved out of the city into the sticks about 12 miles out so
that wee little machine meant I didn't have to rely on getting lifts to see mates and of course cruise past the girlies.....

Hang on nothing's really changed there has it.......

Aah the joys of a 45-60mph moped then just waiting for that 17th birthday (not really as we all know from those times!) and jumping on a 250 trying for the ton!

A BSA Bantam 175. My first bike and I went all over Yorkshire on it. Sadly ended up in a hedge along with a few teeth and I didn't have the money to repair it so I scrapped it.

Don't know what it would feel like to ride now but I'm very nostalgic Smile

I would imagine so. Previous owner only intended to use it as a donor and lost the docs and licence plate. Trust me, you shoulda seen his place. was more like an autojumble than anythin.

I'd imagine you could use the chassis number to get documents registered to your address. Needs a bit of work, but hey ho. I've hardly touched it!

I loved my NS125, but I wouldn't say I was attached to it per se, similarly with my NC21, my SV650 and my Daytona 955i.

I was upset that I sold my first Buell, and I regret crashing the second one. I'd say I was attached to both of those.

My RXS100 that I constantly regret getting rid of. The mighty and impressive Fluff had the survival capabilities of a cockroach. I did zillions of year round commuting miles on it and hammered the pants off it trekking up and down between Cornwall and Hampshire in all seasons.

It went on endless ride-outs and I used to load it up with camping gear and go off on wanderings with it. I basically expected (and got) from a little 100 what would normally be asked of a much bigger bike. . . . .it just took a bit (well ok a lot) longer. Also, the chain had to be adjusted on what seemed like a weekly basis because i was so mean to it Mr. Green

My old 125.

Now I've sold it and bought a 500, I seem to miss not having it anymore.

Yes, it may have been chinese, but it had a sort of charm about it.
The way it was so simple to look after and the superb mpg it returned.
I used to be able to throw it about it so easily, the handling was that good.

Sold it to my mate across the road, so I tend to see it all the time, but he doesn't look after and treat it as well as I did, which does make me a little sad. Sad

I have acouple of bikes that I really miss.

My DT50MX, as it was my first taste of freedom
My RXS100 as it was the first bike I had that would keep up with traffic

My last RD125LC, which I restored from a wreck. I did make a nice profit on it, but it was a corker when it was done...

Actually, I'll tell you a couple of bikes that I really am attached to...

My RD350 F2 and my MZ.

The RD because I've spunked a load of cash on it, and its a good bike when it works, and because I like two strokes.

The MZ... I can't explain why. Its not a great bike but its sooo much fun. I suppose I don't care about it, and yet I do... Its difficult to explain. I want to sell it, but if I successfully get it MOT'd it'll be hard to part with it.
