Everyone has one at some point, It's taken me a total of 17 cheap hacks, 5 sensible road bikes, and a project with a cost estimation that's stratospheric to find the one bike I truly wish to just keep and keep.
Now by now everyone knows which bike that is, so I shan't go into it =P
What's your first motorcycling love? Whats the story behind it?
It's 2:38 and I've just had a double brew of Rocket Fuel branded Coffee... Im buzzin off my tits and bored so I apologise for such an unusual post from me =P ____________________ My bike? A YX140 powered one-off Monkey Bike, something a little different! |

An RD250. My 2nd 'big' bike (in those days a 500 was massive and a 750 was ). I loved that bike.
The bike I really regret selling though was this -

a Tiger 955i that I got for peanuts, sold for a huge profit and regret selling it every day. The most comfortable bike for touring I have owned other than my 1800 Wing, and so much more fun. I really want another ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

Another vote for the Puch Maxi. It was my first bike and my ticket to freedom at 16. I sold it in 2008 ish after it had sat in the garage for 2 years un used and instantly regretted it. I constantly look out for it coming up for sale on ebay and the local classified website. I
f anyone owns it on here X** *28K let me know! It's Purple '72 maxi s with mag wheels and long seat.
The sad thing is the father and son i sold it to can't be using it as it hasnt been taxed since it left me ____________________ 3 Honda NC50's(Sold)-->'72 Puch Maxi S (Sold, want it back!)--> '90 Yamaha RXS 100 (Stolen)--> '87 Honda Cub 90(Sold) --> '95 Kawasaki Eliminator (Sold) --> '98 Bandit 600 (Sold) -->'07 SV650S (Current) |

A BSA Bantam 175. My first bike and I went all over Yorkshire on it. Sadly ended up in a hedge along with a few teeth and I didn't have the money to repair it so I scrapped it.
Don't know what it would feel like to ride now but I'm very nostalgic |

My RXS100 that I constantly regret getting rid of. The mighty and impressive Fluff had the survival capabilities of a cockroach. I did zillions of year round commuting miles on it and hammered the pants off it trekking up and down between Cornwall and Hampshire in all seasons.
It went on endless ride-outs and I used to load it up with camping gear and go off on wanderings with it. I basically expected (and got) from a little 100 what would normally be asked of a much bigger bike. . . . .it just took a bit (well ok a lot) longer. Also, the chain had to be adjusted on what seemed like a weekly basis because i was so mean to it ____________________ smile and be happy. . . .it gets right on everyone's tits! |

My old 125.
Now I've sold it and bought a 500, I seem to miss not having it anymore.
Yes, it may have been chinese, but it had a sort of charm about it.
The way it was so simple to look after and the superb mpg it returned.
I used to be able to throw it about it so easily, the handling was that good.
Sold it to my mate across the road, so I tend to see it all the time, but he doesn't look after and treat it as well as I did, which does make me a little sad. |

Actually, I'll tell you a couple of bikes that I really am attached to...
My RD350 F2 and my MZ.
The RD because I've spunked a load of cash on it, and its a good bike when it works, and because I like two strokes.
The MZ... I can't explain why. Its not a great bike but its sooo much fun. I suppose I don't care about it, and yet I do... Its difficult to explain. I want to sell it, but if I successfully get it MOT'd it'll be hard to part with it.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
