My 3rd bike and first after mopeds was an RXS100 and it was a great little bike, however the brakes were not the best and the 6v electrics drove me mad. It also struggled up hills compared to a restricted 125.
I would consider one, but it would have to be cheap.

Id say that that appiles to pretty much everything classic and 2stroke now irrespective of engine size. there's a few bikes that can be had for reasonable money as they were not as popular when new, or highly thought of etc, or bikes that were very rare and so no one knows about them (Gilera Freestyle 125etc).
The pre-82 125's are very sought after and expensive now, as are most sporty and off road 1980's liquid cooled machines, as this was when they were under constant development and the manufacturers were competing for oneupmanship.
The mid-late 90's last of the two strokes are pretty hard to find, and expensive now too. RGV/NSR/TZR250's etc from this era are very pricey now for what they are.
you can probably pick up european 2stroke bikes a bit cheaper if you can find them though, as first time round nearly most people had one of the Japanese 125's, and so more people are looking for say an RD125LC than there are people looking for early Aprilia/Cagiva/Gilera 125 road bikes. It's the same with the trial versions too, most people had a DT/MTX/KMX TS etc, but i bet there's very few people searching for a Cagiva W8, or Gilera or Fantic 125 traile to re-live old memories. |

When I taught CBT's, I had a fleet of 6 GP100 Suzukis. I closed the school down and gave them all away on a first come first served basis.
They were only 18 months old with less than 3,000 miles on the clock, and I still had a couple of people who wanted me to pay for new indicator lenses or pay for them to get rid of the few dents and scratches, even though it cost them nothing for the bike
Suffice to say, I gave them to people who were not bothered by a few little knocks and scrapes as they all ran perfectly and were all 100% legal.
Wonder where they are now 11 + years on or so? ____________________ It is better to arrive 30 seconds late in this world, than 30 years early in the next |

Surprises me there aren't more of the old school tiddler strokers about, considering how cheap to run and easy to fix they are. Spares are still largely plentiful for most of them. That fact that places like Wemoto and Yambits keep such a wide stock suggests there are still a good few out there - but you don't see many these days.
Over the past two or three years I've started having lots of people come up to me and talk about the old RXS, so it looks like interest in small and ancient shitters is picking up ____________________ The RXS100: vehicle of choice for Chuck Norris |

Well I just bought Serendipity's RXS, so I did manage to find one.
