R6 intermittantly cutting out

my 03 5SL R6 keeps cutting out when dropping down to idle its intermittant some days it does it some days it doesn't, it will restart straight away but will just cut out again if allowed to drop to idle, if i leave it for ten minutes its fine again.

anyone had this before??

Check over your fuel and air filters. Also check your throttle bodies are balanced

When were the shims last checked?

There are only 16 to check - a lot easier than the 20 on the early R1s

Also - check to make sure that the plugs are clean and the plug caps resistance are within spec - normally between 5-10k ohms.I have had one break down when hot and the internal resistor goes open circuit.

i have checked and checked the air filter and fuel lines

i have also changed the spark plugs and coil packs as i got a misfire about 2 months ago

mine is the injection model, are the throttle body know to come unbalanced on these i will check the shims. cheers

They still have to be balanced to ensure all 4 cylinders are working equally and in synch with each other. How many miles are you on?
