Following on from this mornings discussion. Does anyone know where all of the frames earths are on vx 535 Virago?

follow the negative lead from the battery...... that goes to earth, ie the frame

There is often more than one main type earth lead, one usually bolts to an engine mount then there could be another somewhere higher up on the actual frame usually under the tank area.

Thank you. I think I'll have to take a bit more time over this and "properly" check the whole wiring loom. The last thing I want is to damage a new reg/rec.

depending on the reg/rec. If it has an earth lead that should be connected to the frame, then wire it straight to the battery if so
