My Battery keeps going flat. Put an ammeter on it and the yellow extra wire added to the + side appears to be drawing 1 milliamp all the time. Disconnected it and bike starts but battery light flashing on instruments. Why would battery indicator be drawing 1 milliamp? Leave disconnected and get on with life? Any suggestions?

If you read this from the Kawasaki GT club the current draw is 4.2 mA to about 0.28 mA. Could the sensor be shorting so when removed it all works?

From the same site you can remove the sensor and connect the wire via a 50K resistor direct to the +ve terminal for a current draw of 0.18mA.

Is the sensor ok. I know on mine the cable just disintegrated and became brittle over time. You can get replacements here or here.

HTH Thumbs Up

Thanks for the reply. It has given me a few ideas, Namely disconnect for now. I'll know the battery's flat when it doesn't start!
