Check the ticket board.
Most say Motorbikes exempt / free
No idea where you would keep a ticket anyway ... |

Was thinking about this the other day, apart from the rules varying where you live. For the councils that demand a ticket (although they are easily stolen) they could incorporate a system (touch pad like the ones including in most doctors now) where you could include your licence plate. Least that way it means less chance of the ticket being stolen. ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS

York council have IIRC 4 types of bike parking in their car parks and streets.
1.
No bike parking in car park. It's on the signs but can be missed as you do not ride/walk past the sign (e.g. the one by Clifford's Tower). You get a fine for parking a bike there. However, have seen bikes parked by the cycle racks on the pavement and not sure if they were penalised (apparently bikes not allowed in cycle racks).
2.
Free bike parking in car parks in allocated bays. These are where you can't get a car, e.g. there's a tree growing there.
3.
Pay and display charge for motorcycles. One car park, Union Street, provide street furniture to lock your bike up to. You pay and IIRC you got 2 tickets so you could prove you paid (they might have changed that).
4.
Free on street parking in resident areas and any on street marked parking areas. This one winds up the locals as I think they have to pay for on street parking permit. Yet biker boy can roll up, park, walk to work or wherever and all for free all day.
Last time I was in Hull (aka Kingston upon Hull) they had free on street motorcycle parking in marked bays with street furniture to lock your bike to. Which was nice (and essential - it was Hull )
